Our Purpose
We are committed to developing students from early childhood and beyond who are dedicated to being social engineers. Our organization embodies and advances the principles of brotherly love, anti-sexism, anti-racism, anti-misogynoir, and LGBTQIA+ allyship. Through these values, we strive to create a more inclusive and equitable legal profession.
History & Founding
Brothers In Law, Inc. was founded by a group of passionate law students at Howard University School of Law who saw a need for greater diversity and support within the legal profession. Driven by their shared experiences and the desire to create tangible pathways for underrepresented students, they set out to build a student run nonprofit that would provide mentorship, resources, and opportunities for those pursuing careers in law.
What began as a grassroots initiative among students quickly grew into an organization committed to fostering community and providing access to professional development. Through programs like Brothers Who Golf, Law Talks, and our podcast, Brothers In Law, continues to break down barriers and empower the next generation of legal professionals, all while staying grounded in its student-led roots.

Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow, Brothers In Law, Inc., is focused on expanding our impact and reaching even more students who are committed to social change and legal excellence. In the future, we aim to increase the number of scholarships, mentor students across more regions, and develop new programs that can directly address the evolving challenges faced by underrepresented communities.
We are also expanding our efforts to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession. By partnering with organizations and legal professionals, we plan to build a stronger network for students and provide them with the tools to make meaningful contributions to justice reform and beyond.
